パーセルの魅力を満載した良質なシアターミュージック集！

パーセルのシアターミュージック集CD6枚組。
以前LPで発売されていましたが一部しか集めきれず、１５、６年前にCDセット発売されたものを手に入れて以来、私の宝ものになっています。
デジタル録音への移行期のものです。録音は1976、1977、1980、1981、1982、1985年。アナログ録音も含まれますが、オワゾール(デッカ)ブランドの良質な水準が維持された物です。会場の空気感が伝わる透明度の高い音場に、適度なエコーを伴ったそれぞれの楽器や歌手人の声の響きにとても魅了されます。左右のスピーカーの少し奥に歌手陣やソリストが手を触れらそうに、リアルな音像を結びます。
管弦楽器による(序曲と舞曲で構成された)組曲やアリア、デュエット、コーラスなど、パーセルの魅力的な音楽が小宇宙の様に集められています。収録されているものは、代表的なオペラや劇音楽以外のものですので、こうした企画以外では聴く機会は無いと思います。
録音エンジニアは、ケネス・ウィルキンソンの流れを汲むデッカのジョン・ダンカーリー、ジョン・ペロー。
