Austrian composer and conductor Gustav Mahler (1860–1911) wrote chiefly symphonies and Lieder. Late Romantic in style, his tempestuous works reflect the anxious mood of Europe at the turn of the 20th century. Because of his Jewish roots, the composer's music was suppressed by the Nazis but has enjoyed a steady revival over the past five decades.

値段はお手頃で有難いのですが、印刷がつぶれていて判読が難しいところがあります。もうちょっとお金を出して印刷の綺麗な物を買えばよかったと後悔しました。

It's wonderful to be able to refer to the score, but the print is so small that it is difficult to follow it while a recording of the symphony is playing (My choices are Abbado with Chicago & Bernstein, both on DGG.).

I haven't had the same problem with the miniature scores of the Japanese Zen-On scores of Shostakovich's symphonies. For some reason the print is easier to read, even though they are far smaller than the DMS Mahler 7th.

For these eyes, at least, the Dover Miniature Scores, for the complexities of Mahler's 7th, need to be in a larger format in order to be useful to the music lover who enjoys both picking out the melodies of the different instruments on the piano, and reading the score as the music is playing.
