Good sound for a remastered concert

This is my first try of Blu-ray Pure audio.
My system is stereo only and when comparing the CDs and the BR, I am hard pressed to hear a difference.
These are great Concertos, and the performance is quite pleasant. I wished these were available in vinyl, though. I feel the overall tonality is a bit on the dry side.
Still a worthy addition to one's collection of Mozart/Abbado concerts.

As good as it gets

No discussion on the beauty of Mozart's music. Fortunate to had come across this set of the remastered Piano Concertos. Recently I started to update my favorite artists cd collection and learning the impact on the listening pleasure that comes with newer audio technology.
Some albums from The Beatles, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, XTC, etc. not only were remastered a while ago, but are now being transferred to high definition/resolution audio. Most of their recordings are now available in remixed 24 bit/192kHz Stereo, 5.1 Surround and/or Dolby Atmos. This is a better listening experience if you have the adequate sound equipment. Glad to see the Classical Music world is catching up.
I made a comparison of the remastered and remixed Stereo 2.0 versions of the concertos #20 and #21 in this new DG cd's with the same concertos in the BMG Rubinstein Collection cd's, and the difference in audio quality is noticeable. Leaving aside the differences in the music interpretation, the sound coming from the remasters is amazing. You get higher clarity and less background noise, and with the surround version this is as close as a concert hall you can get. At arrival, I enjoyed the music in this set from beginning to end. I am already ordering the available Beethoven works as I believe high definition/resolution audio is the best way to enjoy the music.
I included a picture of the back cover as it is highly appreciated that this set contains both the cd's with the Stereo mixes and the blu-ray with the Surround (4.0 in this case) and Dolby Atmos mixes, in this way the music can also be enjoyed away from the surround sound system. This is the way the new transfers of any recording should be presented.

Beautiful!

I'm listening to this beautiful performance of Mozart's piano concertos Nos. 20, 21, 25 & 27.
I can but say that they are truly lovely - to my ears, sensitively, harmoniously and passionately rendered by both pianist and orchestra.
The added benefit of a Blu-ray recording that takes advantage of the 'atmos' feature only adds to the experience.
Two standard cds are also included in the package, I have been listening to them in my car and whilst they are not SACDs, the sound quality is still amazing.
If Mozart is your thing, I'd heartily recommend this astonishing recording and advise that you get it while it's 'in print', as it were.

Big band Mozart

A disfrutar.

Gulda, ein Außerirdischer...
